Description
Navy Gin is distilled in a copper pot according to London Dry Gin principles and then matured in ex whiskey barrels for 45-60 days. This process gives the gin its smooth, round finish and sweet vanilla from the oak that plays well with the orange peel and spices in the composition. This barrel maturation was a natural process for any gin during the 19th century, as glass bottles were still a luxury, fragile and not suitable for the long journey from Britain to India.
