Description
Founded in 1798 by Claude Jacquesson, the house can pride itself on having been one of Napoleon I’s favorite champagnes. Adolphe Jacquesson was responsible for the important invention of the wire to replace the string and the metal plate to prevent the wire from sinking into the cork. With the purchase of Jacquesson in 1974 by Jean Chiquet, a winegrower and broker, the company remained in the family.
